Dance Out For Jane DC is a united effort of the Irish dance community in the national capital area to support Jane Richard and her family.
Jane is a seven-year-old from Dorchester, Mass., and a student at Clifden Academy of Irish Dance. Jane lost her leg as a result of the explosion during the 2013 Boston Marathon – which also cost her eight-year-old brother, Martin, his life and injured her mother.
Irish dance schools serving Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia are joining the national Irish dance community to show support for Jane and her family and to help raise money as appropriate for the cause. This effort includes Irish dance shows on May 5, as well as ongoing engagement.
